Kris is a lawyer and lobbyist who serves as AWB’s director of legal affairs and represents the association before the Legislature and regulatory agencies on matters related to civil liability reform and employment law and standards. Prior to joining AWB, Kris was Legal Counsel to the Building Industry Association of Washington in Olympia, and has extensive experience representing trade associations before the courts of the state in amicus curiae briefs and in issues related to political campaigns and ballot measures. In addition to coordinating AWB’s Legal Affairs Committee, Kris will handle AWB’s judicial elections endorsement program beginning in 2004.

Kris is a graduate of Seattle University, Georgetown University, and the Notre Dame Law School.  In 1999-2000 Kris clerked for the Honorable Richard Sanders of the Washington Supreme Court.
